How Clabbers Works
The core rule change is simple but transformative: the letters you place on the board do not need to spell a word in the correct order. They merely need to be rearrangeable into a valid word. So placing E-R-A-T-S is valid because those letters form STARE (or RATES, TARES, ASTER, TEARS).

Premium squares are king: Since you can arrange letters in any order, hitting multiple premium squares simultaneously becomes much easier
Hooks are universal: Every word can hook in any direction because letter arrangement is flexible — front and back hooks are equivalent
Challenges are reversed: The burden shifts to the challenger who must PROVE no valid anagram exists — very hard to do quickly
Tile tracking matters more: Since any combination might be valid, knowing what tiles remain tells you what combinations are impossible
