You can manage your saved words, view your unique user ID (UUID), clear all local data, download a backup of your saved words, and relink your UUID if needed.

What happens if I nuke localStorage?

The "Nuke localStorage" button permanently deletes all locally stored data including saved words, preferences, and your session. This action cannot be undone.

What is my UUID used for?

Your UUID is an anonymous identifier used to track your saved words across sessions. It contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify you.

🔒 No Sign-Up Required — Here's How

ScrabbleWordsFinder stores your saved words, preferences, and filter settings directly in your browser using localStorage. This means:

✓No account needed — you never have to create a login, enter an email, or set a password. Your data lives in your browser from the moment you start using the tool.
✓Instant & offline — saves and loads are instantaneous because they happen locally on your device. No network round-trips, no loading spinners.
✓Privacy-first — your data stays on your machine. We don't track your word history or build profiles. The only thing sent to our server is a background backup (tied to an anonymous ID) so you can recover if you clear your browser.
✓Works everywhere — no login walls, no cookie consent popups for authentication. Open the site and start solving.

The tradeoff: If you clear your browser data or switch devices, your local data is gone. That's why we offer Download User ID and Full Backup below — so you can always restore. Your anonymous server backup also kicks in automatically when localStorage is empty but your User ID is present.

Choose an avatar and display name to personalise your presence on ScrabbleWordsFinder. Your avatar appears on leaderboards, daily challenges, and anywhere your scores are shown.

✓50 unique avatars — pick from a curated set of colourful character illustrations. No uploads needed.
✓Display name — set a short nickname (up to 16 characters) shown alongside your scores. Defaults to a random fun name if you don't choose one.
✓Still anonymous — your avatar and name are purely cosmetic. They're tied to your UUID, not to any personal information.

Your avatar selection is stored locally and synced with your anonymous profile on the server. If you relink your UUID on a new device, your avatar and display name restore automatically.

Your User ID links your saved words to the server. Download it to restore your data on another device or after clearing your browser.

📋 Coaching Reports

Your Lex coaching reports (PDFs) are stored locally in your browser. A maximum of 5 reports are kept — oldest are replaced automatically.

Clear all locally stored data (saved words, preferences, User ID). This cannot be undone. Your server-side backup remains intact and can be restored by relinking your User ID.
