The Short Version

We don't collect your personal information. We don't track you. We don't run ads. Your data stays in your browser unless you explicitly choose to back it up.

No Sign-Up Required

ScrabbleWordsFinder.com does not require an account, email address, or any personal information to use. You open the page, you use the solver. That's it.

Data Stored in Your Browser

We use your browser's localStorage to save:

→Your saved/bookmarked words
→Your preferences (dictionary choice, sort order, theme)
→Achievement progress
→An anonymous UUID (randomly generated, not tied to your identity)

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly opt into server backup.

Anonymous Server Backup

If you choose to back up your saved words to our server:

→We store only your word lists tied to a random UUID
→No email, name, IP address, or other identifying information is stored
→The UUID is generated locally in your browser — we have no way to connect it to you
→You can delete this backup at any time from Settings

No Third-Party Tracking

✓We collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve features (no personal data)
✓No tracking cookies
✓No ad networks or advertising pixels
✓No social media trackers
✓No fingerprinting or device identification

No Data Sold or Shared

We do not sell, share, trade, or transfer any user data to third parties. Period. We have no data to sell because we don't collect it.

Delete Everything

You can nuke all your data at any time:

→Go to Settings and click "Delete All Data"
→This clears your localStorage and removes any server-side backup
→The action is immediate and irreversible

Anonymous Usage Insights

We track anonymous click events to understand which features are most used. This helps us prioritise development effort on the tools you actually use.

What we collect:

→Which buttons and links are clicked (e.g., "Solve", "Save Word")
→Page visited at time of click
→Device type (mobile/desktop) and country — derived from IP, not stored individually
→A random session ID (regenerated each browser session, not linked to you)

What we do NOT collect:

✗Your name, email, or any personally identifiable information
✗The words you search for or your game results
✗Cookies that track you across other websites

This data is used solely to improve ScrabbleWordsFinder. We never sell or share it with third parties.

Opting Out — Turn Off Cookies

If you prefer not to be tracked at all, you can reject all cookies via our cookie consent banner (the 🍪 button at the bottom-left) or disable cookies in your browser settings.

With cookies disabled or rejected, the following features will be impacted:

⚠️Saved Words won't persist — your word collection relies on localStorage (linked to your session). Without cookies, we can't identify your session across visits.
⚠️Achievements will reset — progress towards word-finding achievements is stored locally and tied to your anonymous session.
⚠️Theme/settings won't be remembered — your dark mode preference and other settings reset each visit.
⚠️Cookie consent banner will reappear — since we can't store your preference, you'll see the banner on every page load.

Features that still work fully without cookies:

✓Word solving — the solver works entirely client-side with no cookies needed
✓Tile probability and rack leave analysis
✓Best opening moves calculator
✓Reference panels (two-letter words, Q without U, rare letters)
✓Blog content and guides

In short: the core word-finding functionality works perfectly without cookies. Only persistence and personalisation features are affected.
