How to Play QI

Premium square hunting: The Q on a Triple Letter Square turns QI into a 31-point play. On a Double Word Square, it scores 22 points. Always scan for premium squares before settling for a basic placement.
Parallel scoring: Play QI parallel to existing words to create multiple 2-letter crosswords. This is one of the highest-value moves in Scrabble — scoring for QI plus every perpendicular word formed.
Pluralize for bonus: QI pluralizes to QIS (12pts). If QI is already on the board, hooking an S onto it scores you 12 points while forming your main word across it.

A good rack leave balances vowels and consonants (ideally 3-4 consonants and 2-3 vowels), retains common letters like S, E, R, T, and avoids duplicates. Conversely, playing single-tile or two-tile words slows your turnover and reduces your overall access to the tile distribution across the full game.
