Geometry vocabulary is a Scrabble scoring powerhouse. The letter X appears in HEXAGON, VERTEX, and AXIS — three common math terms scoring 18, 16, and 11 points respectively. These aren't obscure words; they're terms everyone learned in school. POLYGON adds Y(4) for 13 points, and even PRISM scores 9 with its compact 5-letter frame. Math class finally paying off.

Geometry Word Strategy

X is the geometry letter: Three of five words contain X (8pts). When you draw X, think shapes: HEXAGON (7, bingo), VERTEX (6, flexible), AXIS (4, tight spots). Geometry gives X multiple homes.

Short words for tight boards: AXIS (4 letters, 11pts) and PRISM (5 letters, 9pts) play anywhere. When the board is locked, these compact math terms score well in parallel plays or tight corners.

HEXAGON and POLYGON are bingos: Both are 7 letters — use your entire rack for the 50-point bonus. HEXAGON scores 18+50=68 minimum. On a premium square, this can reach 100+ points.
