The Stacking Mechanic
Upwords' defining feature is that tiles can be placed on top of existing tiles (up to 5 tiles high). This means you can turn CATS into BATS by stacking a B on top of the C. In Scrabble, once a word is played, it's permanent — you must build around it.

Scoring Differences
