Scrabble Words from Poker — Card Game Terms That Score
Poker terminology translates brilliantly to Scrabble. BLUFF uses the double-F for 13 points, FLUSH pairs F and H for 11, and WAGER puts the tricky W tile to productive use. Card game words are universally known, so they're easy to recall when you spot the right tiles on your rack.

JOKER — 16 Points
J=8, O=1, K=5, E=1, R=1 · 5 letters · J+K power combo
The wild card in a deck. JOKER combines J (8pts) and K (5pts) — two of the hardest consonants to use — into a single familiar word. At 3.2 points per tile, it's among the best ways to clear both premium tiles at once.

Strategy Tips
BLUFF dumps double-F: Drawing two F tiles is painful. BLUFF uses both in one word for 13 points. If you have B, L, U and two F tiles, this is your go-to play every time.
FLUSH pairs F and H: Both F (4pts) and H (4pts) are hard to place. FLUSH combines them for 11 points using common letters L, U, and S. The S at the end means it doesn't hook further (already ends in SH).
WAGER clears W naturally: W (4pts) is notoriously hard to use. WAGER puts it at the front with common tiles A, G, E, R. It also hooks to WAGERS or WAGERED for extensions.
💡 Key Insight
Poker words specialise in F, H, W, and K tiles — the mid-value consonants that plague many racks. BLUFF (FF), FLUSH (F+H), WAGER (W), JOKER (J+K), and STAKE (K) cover nearly every difficult 4-5 point tile in the game.
