Strategy for Double-Z Plays

Hold the first Z: When you draw Z early, consider holding it. The probability of drawing the second Z increases as the bag empties. The potential 29-point JAZZ often outweighs a quick ZA (11pts).

Premium square targeting: Double-Z words are short (4 letters). Position them to land Z on a TLS — JAZZ with one Z on TLS scores 49 points. With both Z's on premium squares, the score skyrockets.

Don't waste blanks on Z: Using a blank as Z only saves you from needing both Z tiles. Since blanks score 0, the word loses 10 points. Save blanks for bingos (50-point bonus) instead — far more valuable.

FIZZ and BUZZ hook easily: FIZZY (27pts) and BUZZY (28pts) extend with Y. JAZZY (33pts) is the highest hook. FIZZLE and BUZZED work for 6-letter extensions.
