Strategy for Tech Words
PIXEL on TLS: Place the X on Triple Letter Score for X=24 alone. PIXEL then scores 30 points from a 5-letter word.
BYTES as rack clearer: B=3 and Y=4 are tiles players struggle with. BYTES clears both plus T, E, S — leaving your rack clean.
MODEM for M doubles: Holding two M tiles? MODEM (M=3, O=1, D=2, E=1, M=3 = 10pts) uses both Ms efficiently.
💡 Key Insight
Tech words that entered English before ~2000 are almost always valid (MODEM, PIXEL, LASER, VIRUS). Newer terms (WIFI, APP, EMOJI) often haven't been added. Stick to words describing hardware or established concepts.
