Scrabble Words Containing All Five Vowels — AEIOU Words
Every Scrabble player dreads the vowel flood — looking down at a rack of A-E-I-O-U plus two more vowels. Instead of exchanging tiles (losing a turn), you can play one of these rare words that contain all five vowels. SEQUOIA alone uses 5 of your 7 tiles as vowels, turning a terrible rack into a 50-point bingo bonus.

The Vowel Flood Solution
💡 Key Insight
When your rack has 5+ vowels, most players exchange tiles and lose a turn. But SEQUOIA uses 5 vowels in just 7 letters — if you hold A, E, I, O, U plus Q and S (or any word with the blank), you can play a bingo instead of wasting your turn. That's a 100+ point swing compared to exchanging.
SEQUOIA
16 points • 7 letters • 5 vowels • Bingo eligible
The ultimate vowel-dump word. Uses A, E, I, O, U in just 7 tiles. Only needs Q + S (or Q + blank) as consonants. Memorise this one word and you'll never fear a vowel-heavy rack again.
Shorter Words with 4 Vowels (Backup Options)
When you can't play all five vowels, these 4-vowel words still dump most of your excess vowels.
Strategy Tips for All-Vowel Words
Memorise SEQUOIA: This one word solves 90% of vowel-heavy situations. If you hold A, E, I, O, U and any two tiles that include Q, S, or a blank, you have a bingo.
ADIEU as emergency dump: Only 5 letters, uses 4 vowels (A, I, E, U), scores 6 points. Better than exchanging because you keep your turn and draw fresh consonants.
Don't hold all five vowels hoping: If you draw A-E-I-O-U on turn 1, play ADIEU or AUDIO immediately. Waiting for Q (to make SEQUOIA) is too risky — Q may never come, and you'll waste turns with a crippled rack.
EQUATION for Q without U worries: EQUATION uses both Q and U together with all five vowels. It's 8 letters, so you need it on the board (not as a standalone bingo), but it's a powerful extension play.
